Where can I use Jason Markk Premium Shoe Cleaner?

Jason Markk Premium Shoe Cleaner is safe to use on all materials including leather, suede, nubuck, nylon, canvas, vinyl, rubber, cloth, etc.

NOTE: When cleaning premium leather, suede, nubuck, nylon, cotton mesh and other delicate materials take extra care and be gentle. We highly recommend using our Premium Shoe Cleaning Brush. The softer hog bristles are better suited for use on delicate surfaces.

Is it safe to use on suede and/or nubuck? If so, how do I clean suede?

Yes, when applied properly, our product is safe and very effective on suede and/or nubuck. Visit our Sneaker Care 101 page to for detailed directions and tips.

NOTE: Due to suede’s textured nature, open pores, and various grades, it can be somewhat unpredictable. We recommend that you test in an inconspicuous area first. We do not recommend cleaning dyed suede, as dyed suede is likely to bleed from any contact with water. Individual results may vary, use at your own risk.

Does the Premium Shoe Cleaner contain any harmful dyes?

No, our solution does not contain any dyes whatsoever.

Will Jason Markk Premium Shoe Cleaner cause “yellowing” to occur on my sneakers?

Absolutely not. Using Jason Markk Premium Shoe Cleaner will actually reduce yellowing that has already occurred on sneakers.

What causes “yellowing” on sneakers?

Midsoles made from synthetic rubber and/or plastic actually bleed plasticizer and coalescence, which over time react with the natural alkaline in soils and turn the sole yellow. UV rays can accelerate this process.

What is Jason Markk Premium Shoe Cleaner made of?

This product is made from natural soaps derived from coconut and jojoba oils.

How does Jason Markk Premium Shoe Cleaner clean and condition?

Stubborn soils such as oil, grease, dirt, grass stains etc. are easily removed by the emulsification process. Natural oil as a building block of this product provides a conditioning property after each cleaning.

How often should I use Jason Markk Premium Shoe Cleaner

We recommend using Jason Markk Premium Shoe Cleaner for everyday maintenance.

Is Repel harmful to me or the environment?

Absolutely not. Repel is a water-based green product. It’s colourless and odourless.

How do I apply Repel?

The material should be clean and dry prior to application. Hold bottle upright 6″ to 8” from shoe, spray evenly covering the entire area of the shoe. Do not oversaturate. Use a cloth to dab and soak up any excess product. Allow to completely dry/cure for 24 hours or more. After the first coat has dried, repeat steps and apply a second coat. Before exposing to liquid, make sure shoes have completely dried.

Tip: The longer you allow Repel to cure, the stronger the repellency.

What shoes can I use Repel on?

Use Repel on absorbent materials like, suede, nubuck and canvas. Leathers that are sealed or have polishes on them (i.e. patent leather) are essentially already waterproof. If Repel is accidentally applied to these types of materials, simply wipe clean with a cloth before it dries.

How long does Repel last?

Repel generally lasts 4-6 weeks. Longevity will vary depending on the amount of exposure to the elements. The best way to test the effectiveness of the Repel is to take a few drops of water and observe how well the water beads and rolls off of the shoe. If reapplication is needed, we suggest cleaning your shoes with our Premium Shoe Cleaner, allow to fully dry and to reapply Repel following the directions on the bottle.
